Porsche Carrera Cup North America returns to the longest track on the calendar, the four-mile Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Round Five of the championship is part of the six-hour IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix race weekend.

The event features a trio of races – the regularly schedule doubleheader for Road America and the make-up race from the postponed event at Miami International Autodrome. The pair of 40-minute races on Friday, 31 July will count as the regularly scheduled races for Road America. The race on Saturday, 1 August serves as the Miami round and is open only to those originally entered at the Miami race. That round was postponed due to potential weather on the Formula One weekend.

Carrera Cup has visited Road America in each of its five prior seasons. This will be the first visit for the combination of the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2) and , both new to the championship in 2026.

Tyler Maxson is currently leading the Mobil Pro Class, attempting to give TOPP Racing back-to-back championships following Ryan Yardley’s title a season ago. Maxson has 147 points, followed by Aaron Jeansonne (Kellymoss) and Callum Hedge (JDX Racing) tied with 110.

Closing the gap won’t be easy. Maxson won the second race at Road America last year. That was his first career win of six total to date. Patrick Mulcahy is seven-for-seven this year to lead the Solairus Aviation Pro-Am class, while Marco Cirone holds a 146-119 advantage in the Solairus Aviation Masters class.
