Porsche Carrera Cup North America racer Sabré Cook is set to return to the championship in 2025, joining forces with the Denver, CO-based championship-winning squad, JDX Racing.
Cook became the first-ever female driver in the championship when she debuted in 2023 and also became the first Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program member.
JDX Racing won the overall Pro class championship in Carrera Cup in 2022 with Parker Thompson and took overall race wins last season with Zach Vanier and Alex Sedgwick.
“I’m beyond excited to join JDX Racing for the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season,” explained Cook.
“JDX has a proven track record of success, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to race with such a top-tier team.
“The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car is an incredible machine. I’m looking forward to pushing myself, adapting to work with the team, delivering great performances, and improving on results from last season. I can’t wait to get started at Sebring.”
Cook is eagerly awaiting the chance to compete in 2025 with JDX – doing battle with a team that focuses exclusively on the Pro class in Carrera Cup.
“I’ve really been anticipating the start of the 2025 Carrera Cup season. In the two previous seasons, I’ve gained valuable experience and had some really positive moments, but each certainly had its own set of challenges,” Cook said.
“I suffered a severe concussion in 2023 at Indy when I was collected by an out-of-control car – then last year, having to switch teams mid-season was less than ideal. Both situations were out of my control but I learned and grew through the challenges to come out stronger and more resilient.”
“JDX has an incredible record in Carrera Cup. Joining an organization like this allows me to truly focus on getting the best possible performance out of myself and the car – without having to worry about outside distractions.”
While Cook was a trailblazer in Porsche one-make racing, she will again be joined on the grid by multiple female racers looking to use these steps on the Porsche pyramid to further their careers as part of the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program.
“It’s gratifying to see more and more female racers entering Porsche one-make racing, and we’re all so appreciative of the support from both Porsche and Mobil 1,” Cook said.
“We’re now seeing so many girls competing in championships in IMSA, SRO, and all types of racing across the country. All of us are focused on reaching our top potential, but we also take seriously the fact that we are role models for young girls who are interested in racing and hope we can inspire and set a great example for them.”

Starting her career in karting, Cook quickly progressed through the ranks, competing in the USF2000 Championship and then racing internationally in the W Series, the all-female single-seater championship. Alongside her racing career, Cook holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has worked with top-tier motorsport organizations.
“When I’m in the car, I have to focus on the driving side of the job and leave the engineering to the team. But having that knowledge can be beneficial in communicating with my engineer and advantageous when working to develop a setup,” Cook said.
“I was very fortunate that my education and work experience took me all the way into Formula 1, but for now, my focus is behind the wheel. There will be plenty of time to put my engineer hat back on once I hang the helmet one day, but I am in no rush at all for that to happen.”
In 2024, JDX Racing took four wins overall and had three drivers finish in the top ten in points – including two of the top four.
Founded in 2008 by former racers Jeremy Dale and Harrison Brix, JDX has built a strong reputation for developing top-tier talent and delivering championship-caliber performances. Team principal Dale is confident that Cook will substantially add to the championship-winning team.

One of America’s most accomplished female racing drivers is set to contest the Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship in 2025. Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama race winner Ashley Freiberg will make the jump to the top level of Porsche one-make racing this season.
After finishing her 2024 Sprint Challenge season with Kellymoss, the Las Vegas-based Freiberg will continue with the Wisconsin championship-winning squad this season.
She scored six podiums last year in Sprint Challenge North America, including a race victory at the Circuit of the Americas. But Freiberg is no stranger to success aboard Porsche machinery.
Freiberg claimed the 991 championship title in Sprint Challenge in 2023, scoring seven wins and was actually a race winner in IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge at Watkins Glen back in 2013 – the precursor to today’s Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
She won 25 Skip Barber races and two series championships in 2010 and also became the first woman to win a Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race (the precursor to today’s Michelin Pilot Challenge series) in 2014.
This year Freiberg will continue as a member of the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program. Last season, the program featured a total of seven drivers across Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge.
“I’m so excited. I’ve wanted to make this step up to Carrera Cup for some time,” Freiberg said.
“I know it’s incredibly competitive. As a driver, I’ll have a great opportunity to grow there. I know it will be a big challenge because there are a lot of really fast drivers in that series.
“The Porsche 992 Cup car is a blast to drive. To be at the top end of the field you have to be extremely precise with your driving, and I think it’ll really push me to grow. And that’s what excites me the most.”
Freiberg made her debut with Kellymoss last season at the VIRginia International Raceway round of Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama – taking a pair of third-place finishes on debut.
She is in good hands for her Carrera Cup debut season. Last year, Kellymoss won championships in all three classes: Pro, Pro-Am, and Masters.
“Working with Kellymoss is so exciting. They are a top team, and they prove that every year,” Freiberg said.
“Victoria (Thomas – Kellymoss co-owner) has been amazing from last year all the way through to now. I’m looking forward to a good future with them because she wants to continue bringing more females up the ladder. And I’m just so grateful to be a part of it.
“Everyone at Kellymoss is fantastic, super nice, and really hardworking. And they are also very precise in preparing for a race weekend. So that’s been cool to learn from. They also have great driver coaches there – they only hire the best.
“So I know I’ve been like a sponge and learning as much as I could to prepare for this season. So I’m hopeful that I can continue with good results. I know the team is very winning focused and I am too. So I think we align really well there. I’m just excited to see what happens.”
With Porsche Carrera Cup North America again competing at three Formula One races in 2025, Freiberg is eagerly awaiting the chance to compete at two new circuits for her – and also return to the scene of her Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama race win from last year at Circuit of The Americas.
Freiberg is particularly fond of COTA. It was one of two tracks in 2023 where she took the clean sweep – pole and two race wins in the 991 class.
“Miami and Montreal both seem like incredible venues to race at,” she said.
“So I’m excited to do that and being with Formula One – you can’t get much better than that in terms of exposure, crowds and just the whole show that they put on. So I know that’ll make my sponsors excited as well to get that kind of exposure.
“COTA has also been very kind to me in the past, and the chance to race there in front of a massive crowd is going to be incredible.”
Freiberg is just one piece of the female driver development package for Kellymoss in 2025. Loni Unser returns to the Cayman class in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama this season after finishing third last year with six podium appearances – including a streak which featured the last four races of the season.
Joining Unser in Sprint Challenge is Canadian newcomer Erika Hoffmann. Her racing resume includes winning the 2022 Formula Woman International Driver Search Competition and co-founding Slate Racing, an all-female team of Canadian racers. Like Unser, Hoffman will race the 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS in 2025.
Seasoned racer Nicole Robichaud also returns to the track with Kellymoss in Porsche Club of America racing.
“Seeing more women get into the sport is very exciting and something that’s really close to my heart,” Freiberg said.
“I’m very passionate about bringing more women into the sport. So to see brands like Mobil 1, Porsche, and Yokohama help and actually support women directly is really cool for me to watch.
“Seeing women come up into the Porsche pyramid is cool too because they’re not only competing – but they’re doing an amazing job. They’re winning races; they’re on the podium. It’s definitely a big shift from 10 years ago. So it’s cool to be a part of it for sure.”
Kellymoss has made a huge contribution to the development of female talent in Porsche one-make racing after running Sabré Cook in her debut Porsche Carrera Cup North America in 2023 – the first female driver to ever compete in the championship.
“It’s so rewarding to go from running the first female driver in Carrera Cup in 2023 to partnering with female drivers in all our 2025 Porsche racing endeavors in just a couple short years,” said Victoria Thomas, Kellymoss Co-owner.

Former Porsche Carrera Cup North America race winner and series runner-up Tom Sargent has come a long way in his sports car career with Porsche.
When we say the 22-year-old Sargent has come a long way – more than 9,500 miles from his hometown in Australia to race recently at the Daytona 24 Hour with Wright Motorsports.
Just two years ago, Sargent – who grew up in the small town of Young, New South Wales, with a population of less than six thousand – moved to the United States to add to his already stacked racing résumé.
After entering the karting ranks at age seven, Sargent progressed into the Australian Formula Ford championship in 2017. The coronavirus pandemic halted the 2020 season, but Sargent returned with a vengeance to capture the National Championship in 2021.
He catapulted into GT racing and into the spotlight after a stunning performance in the spring of 2022 – winning the Bathurst Six Hour in a hastily summoned-together team.
Little did Sargent know he would soon add to that highlight reel. The same year, he joined the elite Porsche family and entered the 2022 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia series, walking away with seven wins and the championship.
That immediate success led to a valiant decision: moving to the United States in 2023 to compete in an even higher-level championship, Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
The Australian quickly caught the eye of the field in the season-opening rounds at Sebring International Raceway, scoring a runner-up finish in both contests. The inaugural win was elusive, however, finally coming in the penultimate weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. By the season’s end, Sargent finished second in the Pro class championship to conclude his debut season of North American competition.
It’s no surprise that Sargent continued to challenge himself in 2024, participating, winning and scoring podiums in Fanatec GT World Challenge America alongside Kyle Washington at GMG Racing.
But the biggest challenge has now begun.
For this season, Sargent was named the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup driver for Wright Motorsports, paired with full-time drivers Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson. Sargent met the pair in GT World Challenge America last season – seeing firsthand their championship-winning effort.
Joining Wright Motorsports is Sargent’s introduction to the top-tier racing series in North America – joining a host of other former Carrera Cup and Porsche one-make racing stars.
The 2025 Daytona field was filled with drivers who kick started their careers in Porsche one-make racing including overall race winner Nick Tandy. In fact, the entire Wright Motorsport line-up all used Porsche one-make racing as part of their career development.
“Making my IMSA debut, and with such a well-established and successful team, is my dream start to the championship,” Sargent said upon his announcement. “I can’t wait to be able to do my job, work beside these incredible drivers, and represent the team and my country to the best of my ability.”
And that he did.
With Skeer and Adelson leading the charge and Sargent learning alongside Turkish Porsche factory driver, Ayhancan Guven, the quartet powered to a stunning second-place finish at the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of January. It came after Skeer nabbed the GTD class pole position to start the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) first, and the drivers combined to lead 141 laps of the race.
Wright Motorsports’ chance to win was only cast aside when a late-race yellow flag impacted the team’s strategy.
Nevertheless, it was an impressive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut for the youngster from New South Wales, who had just contested his first-ever twice-around-the-clock racing marathon.
“My first ever 24-hour was hectic to say the least,” said Sargent after the race. “Bittersweet is the way I’ll put it. We were so fast throughout the whole race. We led so many laps of it. Adam, Elliott, and Ayhancan drove amazingly. We were really on top of it and the team was making changes throughout the event to keep the car in the window.
“Unfortunately, it just didn’t fall our way. An unfortunate Safety Car meant we had to do an emergency pit stop and then serve a drive-through, which didn’t give us enough time to recover. Ayhancan put in an amazing last stint to get us P2.
“Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly what we wanted. Nonetheless, my first 24 Hours of Daytona was amazing, and I’ve got the rest of the endurance season with Wright Motorsports and can’t wait.”
Sargent’s next outing with Wright Motorsports is set for next month at the historic 12 Hours of Sebring on March 12 – 15.
This year’s Porsche Carrera Cup North America will kick off at the same event at Sebring. Teams will actually gather in Sebring at the start of March for the annual pre-season test on Monday and Tuesday, March 3 and 4.
The world’s best sports car drivers are set to do battle this weekend in the 24 Hours of Daytona, but many of them have one thing in common – kickstarting their racing careers in Porsche Carrera Cup competition around the world.
Fifteen of the 29 drivers racing Porsche machinery at Daytona came through Porsche one-make championships – collecting a total of 10 championships along the way.
In the factory Porsche Penske Motorsport squad, four of the six drivers came through the Porsche development pyramid of which Carrera Cup is a key component.
The championship pedigree includes Matt Campbell winning Porsche Carrera Cup Australia in 2016; Mathieu Jaminet was the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup France champion; Nick Tandy won the German championship in 2011 and Kevin Estre won the French and German titles in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
Estre is the Carrera Cup “poster child” of the pack. The Frenchman spent a total of six seasons in various Carrera Cup championships, as well as Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup before beginning his international factory driver career.
“Carrera Cup was a very important part of my career. I was able to show what I could do as a race driver and present myself in front of a manufacturer like Porsche, which was my dream,” Estre said.
“The series is such a tough championship because everyone has the same car and you can change only four or five set-up items. So to really make a difference, it is up to the driver.
“You need to be very fast in qualifying to make sure you are starting up front and make sure you make a good start. You have to adapt yourself to the car and the conditions because there aren’t as many changes you can make compared to a GT3 car.”
Beginning in his native France, Estre finished fifth (2008), fourth (2009), and second in 2010 before finally winning the championship in 2011 – the same year that he made his Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup debut.
He went on to finish second in Supercup in 2012 and fourth in Germany the same year, followed by a fourth-place Supercup finish and a championship win in Germany in 2013.
“The first year was tough. I was quite quick, but made a lot of mistakes,” Estre said.
“My second year was a lot better. In my third year, I was fighting for the championship against Fred Makowiecki, but I lost by one point at the end of the season.
“You need to take your time to learn. The following year, I finally won the championship and did my first races in Supercup.”
Estre firmly believes that Carrera Cup competition around the world is the perfect stepping stone to follow in his footsteps and chase a career as an international sports car driver.
“Every young driver has dreams of being in Formula One, and if you have access to a huge budget – then go for it,” he said.
“But for many of us, it’s better to change earlier rather than spend millions on single-seaters to eventually end up nowhere.
“Taking the path through Carrera Cup is a great way to learn how to become a professional racing driver where you actually do this for a living.
“You have a lot more chances to do that in sports car and endurance racing. The WEC, IMSA, Japan – there are lots of continents where you can earn money, be a professional and live your dreams.
“In Formula One, IndyCar or even Super Formula in Japan – there aren’t many drivers who are making a living from that.”
Other Porsche aces with a Carrera Cup pedigree include factory driver Julien Andlauer (racing the Proton Competition 963 entry at Daytona) who won the French championship in 2017. His Proton teammates entered in the No. 20 GTD Pro Porsche include Thomas Preining (2018 Carrera Cup Germany Champion) and Richard Lietz (2006 Supercup runner-up). Iron Dames racer Michelle Gatting contested the 2014 Carrera Cup Germany championship.
Both AO Racing (GTD Pro) and Wright Motorsports (GTD) line-ups are full of ex-Carrera Cup aces as well.
Laurin Heinrich won the German championship in 2022 and finished third in Supercup the same year. He also took a Porsche Carrera Cup North America race win in an end-of-season guest drive.
Klaus Bachler debuted in Supercup in 2012, won his first race in 2013 and finished fifth in the 2014 championship, while Alessico Picariello has three race starts to his name in the 2020 French championship.
At Wright Motorsports Elliiot Skeer was the 2015 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge champion (the predecessor to Carrera Cup North America); Tom Sargent ran in the North American championship in 2023; Adam Adelson scored three top tens in his 2022 Cup season, while Daytona rookie Ayhancan Guven won the French championship in 2018 and 2019.
“I started racing in karting in Turkey and then went on to race in Italy, where I finished third in the championship. But due to budget, I couldn’t continue,” Guven said.
“I stopped racing and started sim racing, but I was also following a lot of racing – watching DTM, Super Cup, Carrera Cup, Formula One, WRC, WTCC, any kind of racing – I was following everything.
“I knew Porsche had the junior programs with Carrera Cup and thought that might be my chance. I got back into racing and won the Turkish championship, and that helped me find a sponsor.
“Together with help from the Turkish Federation, I started racing in Porsche Sports Cup – the lowest level Porsche competition in Germany in 2015. After a good year there, I jumped to Carrera Cup in France and Benelux (Belgium-Netherlands-Luxemberg) where I won both championships.
“That led me to Carrera Cup Germany and Supercup and by 2019, I was chosen as Porsche Junior and I’ve been supported by Porsche in GT racing from 2020 onwards driving for GT3 customer programs around the world.”
Guven won the GT Masters championship in Europe in 2022 and last year won both the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Gold Medal for GT at the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia in October.
“Carrera Cup cars are proper race cars with a lot of horsepower. When you start driving these cars as a young racer, it’s quite a big step but it really teaches you the basics of GT racing,” he said.
“Qualifying in Carrera Cup is really important. You learn a lot about car set-up and how to get the most of the car.
“It’s not so complex, but you learn the philosophy of the GT car. A GT3 car is far more complicated, but there is always great young talent In Cup – all of whom want to become factory drivers.”
“Because the cars are technically so close, the driver can really make a difference. It’s more related to the driver and you have to push your limits to become successful there. So if you are slow, you cannot blame the car or the team.”
With Carrera Cup competitions taking place around the globe, drivers have the opportunity to race exactly the same car in different championships around the world.
“I remember when I was doing the Benelux championship, I was looking at guys from Supercup and there are sometimes some races where I have a chance to drive against them,” Guven said.
“It gives you a chance to show yourself to big teams and show that you are fast.”
But while Porsche would love to keep every single Carrera Cup ace as part of the “family” – other brands recognize that Carrera Cup is a brilliant breeding ground for top international sportscar drivers.
The line-up for the 24 Hours of Daytona also includes three drivers with both Supercup and German Carrera Cup championships to their credit – Philip Eng and Rene Rast (BMW), plus Earl Bamber (Cadillac).
Other champions include Mike Rockenfeller (2004 German champion, now racing with Ford) and Nicki Thiim (2013 Supercup champion, now racing with Aston Martin).
Two former Porsche Carrera Cup North America champions are also part of the field for the 24 Hours of Daytona – inaugural champion Seb Priaulx races with Ford, while 2022 champion Parker Thompson lines up for Lexus.
The roll call of former Porsche one-make series drivers also features an amazing all-star line-up including Tom Blomqvist, Felix Rosenqvist, Nick Yelloly, Nick Boule, Oliver Jarvis, Paul-Loup Chatin, Rasmus Lindh, Tom Dillman, PJ Hyett, Madison Snow, Lars Kern, Orey Fidani, Daniel Morad, Dennis Olsen, Connor De Phillippi, Zacharie Robichon, Alec Udel, Roman De Angelis, Dan Harper, Jules Gounon and Charlie Eastwood.

Porsche race cars were a force to be reckoned with everywhere in professional sports car racing during the 2024 season.
One for the record books, a Porsche car stood atop the podium in 50 different open competition races. Wins came from behind the wheel in the 963 prototype, the 911 GT3 R, and the 718 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport at tracks across the country.
In a historic season for Porsche Motorsports North America (PMNA) and its customer racing teams, more than 200 individual Porsches comprised 1,958 entries in 132 professional and pro-am races sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), SRO America, and USAC.
In addition to wins in the GTP and GT Daytona Pro (GTD Pro) class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, Porsche drivers collected wins in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, GT World Challenge America, GT America and GT4 America during the 2024 season.
“I want to thank our customer teams, and the people at PMNA who made this year possible. The sheer volume of entries tells a story on its own. We always say customer racing is the heart of Porsche Motorsport, and this year’s results are a perfect example of that,” said Volker Holzmeyer, Porsche Motorsport North America CEO.
Though the top levels of the sport gather the most attention from the general public, PMNA continued to outline the path for racers who are climbing the ladder.
The team saw 1,108 entries between the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport machines in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama, Porsche Sprint Challenge West by Yokohama, and new-for-2024 Porsche Endurance Challenge North America field during the season.
All three championships and both classes are a competitive entry point in stand-alone race weekends at premier race tracks in the United States.
Likewise, Porsche Carrera Cup North America remains the premier one-make championship for drivers testing their abilities on a larger stage.
The 16-race championship, which typically runs in front of IMSA race fans but had six races over three Formula 1® World Championship race weekends in 2024, featured 534 entries.
The largest contingent of Porsche race cars in North America during the 2024 season came at Road America in August, where 203 911 GT3 Cup and 718 Cayman GT4 cars raced in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America, Porsche Sprint Challenge West and Porsche Endurance Challenge.
“Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama offers a logical entry point to racing, and, combined with Porsche Carrera Cup North America – the two series are key steps of the Porsche pyramid that provide a path all the way to the pinnacle of sports car racing in the prototype 963,” Holzmeyer said.
“I’m especially proud that we were able to launch the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America this year, and that it was a resounding success with our customers. We are excited for 2025 and look forward to another strong year in paddocks and on tracks across the continent.”
At the very first Porsche Carrera Cup North America race in 2021, 34 drivers lined up on the grid at Sebring International Raceway. Four years and 64 races later – only two racers hold the honor of entering every single event in championship history.
Now teammates at Kellymoss, Efrin Castro and John Goetz, had contrasting fortunes in that first-ever event. Then racing for Team Hardpoint EBM, Castro finished second in the Pro-am class behind the driver who he would go on to have a never-ending championship battle with – Alan Metni.
Then competing for Wright Motorsports, Goetz wasn’t as fortunate – failing to finish the first-ever race. Castro went on to win the championship in 2021, while Goetz scored three podiums en route to fourth place in the points.
“Both Efrin and John have been wonderful ambassadors for our championship and it has been an honor for Porsche North America to have them join us for every single event we have run over the past four years,” said Volker Holzmeyer, Porsche Motorsport North America President and CEO.
“It’s not just the fact they have raced in every event – it is how they go about their racing. They are both fast but fair, and everyone in the paddock loves competing against them.”
The Kellymoss pair passed the 50 races mark at Sebring earlier this year and that mark now stands at 64 after the final races of 2024 recently at Circuit of The Americas.
“It was a wonderful feeling to pass the 50 races mark earlier this year because John and I are truly committed to this sport,” Castro said.
“We’re also both with a really good team at Kellymoss who always get us to the start of our races.”
Now racing in the Masters class, Goetz welcomes the challenge that Porsche Carrera Cup North America provides.
“I think the two big things about Carrera Cup for me – one is you can always be better. There’s always someone better than you, so you’re always trying to improve. But also, I think the sportsmanship is just superb,” said Goetz.
“And here at Kellymoss, we all work together. It’s just an awesome team.”
With championship wins to his name, Castro is impressed with how the championship has grown over the past four years.
“The series has grown tremendously. We were all excited when it was first announced in 2021. And now, with the F1 races on the schedule as well – it’s amazing,” said Castro.
“The series just keeps growing. Porsche is doing an amazing job. They keep getting it right and doing things better, and that’s why we continue to race. It motivates us to come back.
While both drivers are fighting for their own success in their respective classes, they continue to be impressed with the level of talent that the championship now attracts.
“I think the way you could tell the series is getting better is the drivers are getting better,” said Goetz.

Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) has announced the 2025 race season schedules for each of its one-make championships with a focus on continuity. Each of the four championships will return with event calendars mirroring the successful 2024 race season.
Competitors in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, Porsche Endurance Challenge North America, Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama and Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama will again race on the continent’s most famous and popular road courses.
Multi-class, single-brand racing will continue to support IMSA and IndyCar weekends in 2025. Porsche Carrera Cup North America, the premier one-make championship for the German marque in the United States and Canada, will again support Formula 1® at three events: Miami, Florida, Austin, Texas and in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
By utilizing the same car for all competitors, the demand for performance is on the driver and on the team alone. Porsche one-make racing, which dates to the founding of Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 1990, is the backbone of the global Porsche Motorsport Pyramid.
Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
Porsche Carrera Cup North America is the premier one-make race series in the United States and Canada utilizing a combination of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car, type 992, and Yokohama’s ADVAN® A005 racing slick to challenge the best road and street race courses on the continent.
The fifth season of the championship is scheduled to host 16 rounds at eight venues. Each 40-minute race counts toward a season-long driver championship in each of three classes: Pro, Pro-Am and Masters as well as a Team champion.
As the pinnacle one-make series of the Porsche Motorsport North America Pyramid, the series is a launching point for young drivers aspiring to a career in auto racing.
Previous champions Seb Priaulx (2021), Parker Thompson (2022), Riley Dickinson (2023) and two-time runner-up Kay van Berlo (2021, 2022) have each moved into open competition racing, where they compete in the SRO GT4 America, IMSA Pilot Challenge and/or the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Porsche Sprint Challenge.
Entering its fifth season, Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama has proven a vital and vibrant one-make series with a focus on learning the craft of professional motorsport.
In 2025, the national series keeps its core events as it has since the series’ creation in 2021. One exciting addition will be the premiere of Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on both the Sprint Challenge North America and Sprint Challenge USA West schedules.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama moves into its fourth season with great momentum as well. Focused primarily on tracks in the western portion of the United States, the series runs to the same regulations as the national series and shares select dates. Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and USA West continue as the primary feeder series to Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
Porsche Endurance Challenge North America.
The Porsche Endurance Challenge North America returns as a four-event championship with each race lasting longer than 40-minutes. As it did in its inaugural 2024 season, cars which are currently authorized for the United States Auto Club (USAC) sanctioned Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama are eligible to enter the Porsche Endurance Championship. Details of the final structure of the Endurance Championship will be made available in the coming weeks.
Porsche Motorsport North America Pyramid.
The Porsche Motorsport North America Pyramid provides the racing industry with a clear path for drivers, teams and marketing partners to progress through the ranks of sports car racing. At each step on the Pyramid, Porsche provides the appropriate tools, personnel and strategies to model the career path for drivers, teams and partners.

All rounds of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America will again be found on IMSA.tv, the NBC Peacock streaming app and PorscheCarreraCup.us. They will be cataloged on both the Porsche Motorsport North America and IMSA YouTube channels as well. The experts of IMSA Radio will again provide commentary and color for the 16-race championship.

Congratulations are officially in order, not only for class champions but also for the Round 16 winners, as the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season came to a close with Sunday’s checkered flag for Ryan Yardley at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Yardley started on the second row with Topp Racing Performance, but within 10 minutes, had chased down and passed the leaders to capture the final Pro class victory of the year. The win was crucial, as Yardley broke his tie with Alex Sedgwick (JDX Racing) for second in the championship standings.
For the second weekend in a row, Yardley and and JDX Racing’s Zach Vanier mirrored the scene in victory lane – Vanier winning the first race of the weekend and Yardley the second.
“It’s been an awesome year,” said Yardley after his third win of the season.
“To finish off with a win and to be here with Formula One and here your national anthem on the podium is also pretty special. It’s been a pretty cool day and I was just glad to get through Turn 1 clean, and thankfully, we did that. It was just head down from there.”
While Sedgwick was unable to close the gap to Yardley, he and JDX Racing teammate Vanier had a thrilling battle for second and third that came down to the final 60 seconds. Both drivers ultimately had a successful run in Race 2, as Sedgwick started sixth and finished second, while Vanier started fourth to finish third.
Loek Hartog – who was mathematically crowned the Pro class champion at Road Atlanta earlier this month – completed his season with a fourth-place result on Sunday.
In the Pro-Am class, Alan Metni (Kellymoss) knew he had to beat his teammate Efrin Castro to take the crown, and the Austin resident did just that. Metni celebrated with friends and family on Sunday after enduring pressure from Castro for both the win and the title.
“This is what we talked about – whoever wins, wins,” Metni added. “That was the idea. I was all keyed up by it, but I was also motivated by it. It was really fun, close racing with (Efrin), and I enjoy racing with him.”
Castro was one of several competitors who fell victim to a spin on Sunday, but he lurked in Metni’s mirrors, running in second place before doing so. Moisey Uretsky (Baby Bull Racing) ultimately finished second, and Castro battled back to finish third.
“It feels great, and it’s amazing that we did this here at home,” said Metni.
“I love racing with Efrin and Mosiey and Marco (Cirone) and everybody else. These guys taught me how to race. It’s amazing coming back here. Getting to see my lovely wife and daughter here, and all the guys at Kellymoss did a phenomenal job.”
The Masters class race and championship results were determined on the final corner of the race. Kellymoss driver Chris Bellomo – who was also Friday’s polesitter and Saturday’s Race 1 winner – battled door-to-door with Kyle Washington (GMG Racing) for the win, but tapped his competitor off track coming to the checkered flag. Scott Blind (Ruckus Racing) watched the drama unfold in third place and snuck by both cars for the win, his second of the season.
“(Carrera Cup) is super competitive,” explained Blind, who also competes in the Porsche Sprint Challenge series. “There’s a lot more on the line, a lot more cars in front of me. All in all, both paddocks are full of great people and the grid is fabulous.
“I have some good people behind me and Andrew Davis is one of them. He’s a great coach and good for my headspace, keeping me focused, and Mike Johnson is on the radio. I had a great start and was in first, went deep into Turn 12 and lost a few places. I made all the spaces back and at the end of the day, it was a great day to take first.”
Bellomo was assessed a 10-second penalty for the late incident but maintained second place in class. Therefore, after his success in Texas, Bellomo captured the championship by the narrowest of margins over Matt Halcombe, who finished a place shy in third.
The Porsche Carrera Cup North America field celebrated its accomplishments on Sunday evening with the end-of-season Celebration of Champions, while the class champions will also be recognized at the annual Porsche Night of Champions later this year.

After taking his second win of the season last week, JDX Racing’s Zachary Vanier wasted no time getting his third today at Circuit of The Americas with stunning speed in the opening lap today in Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
Starting third on the grid, Vanier pounced in the first corner and actually grabbed the lead heading into turn two on the opening lap.
Despite multiple restarts, Vanier held off the back for his third win of the year and his second in a week. He won round 13 of the championship last week at Road Atlanta with similar opening lap pace.
“This is a track I’ve had a lot of success at in the past and of course, to carry it on is really nice,” said Vanier.
”For the season, it’s been a really strong year of development for me personally, inside and outside the car. There’s a lot of expectation when you move up and being in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship, the competition is very fierce and it’s very high pace.
“For me, I’m very happy with it. This is the third win of the season and it feels the best.
“I want to give a huge thanks to JDX Racing and all my partners for making it happen. Tonight, we’ll go back to analyze and try again tomorrow.”
Hartog went on to finish runner-up, while Topp Racing’s Ryan Yardley’s third-place puts him in a battle for second in the championship with one race remaining.
Kellymoss driver Efrin Castro surpassed his teammate and Pro-Am class polesitter Alan Metni before the first caution en route to his fourth win of the season. The pair will face a championship showdown on Sunday after Metni finished fourth.
James Sofronas (GMG Racing) and Marco Cirone (ACI Motorsports) rounded out the Pro-Am class podium.
“First, I want to thank the man above for giving me this opportunity and everybody who contributes to the race – Porsche, the team, Riley Dickinson, everybody who is part of it,” said Castro.
“It was a switch that turned on in me and I was in full attack mode. Turn one opened up and there was a big gap. I was able to go right through and sit right behind Alan.
“From there, it was just a switch that was on, and I just kept driving and hitting my marks and putting the pressure on.”
In the Carrera Cup Masters class, the battle will also come down to the last laps of Sunday’s race. Championship leader Matt Halcombe was involved in the Lap 1 incident on Saturday, while his rival Chris Bellomo held off the rest of the field and narrowed his gap in the title.
“I have a fantastic team behind me with Kellymoss and a very excellent coach and a super supportive family,” Bellomo credited. “All of that makes for a very enjoyable experience here and it’s a lot of fun.
“We did a lot of visualization and a lot of data work. I’ve got a performance coach and I’ve got everything I can possibly think of to help me succeed. It doesn’t always work out, but it worked out today.”
Finishing second and third, respectively, were GMG Racing’s Kyle Washington and Ruckus Racing’s Scott Blind.
Only one round remains before all champions are crowned for the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 11 p.m. Central prior to the Formula One United States Grand Prix.
